Respect.

You must give respect to get respect. Most people lack to know the definition of the word respect. Respect isn’t just not cursing during an argument if that person isn’t cursing at you. Its treating others like you want them to treat you. If someone asks you to do something and you either don’t do it or catch an attitude it’s disrespectful.  Especially when you ask that same person for something or to do something for you. There must be a mutual ground. I personally cannot begin to understand why people abuse others kindness. If you acted like that at a work place, do you think you would still have a job? I don’t think so, so why would you act that way towards others? We’re all human beings. We all breathe the same air and walk this planet called earth. This can turn into a religion/hate thing too. But I think there is another time for that. Respect can go a long way. You never know who knows who, and who knows what. People can take you places, and you were mean or disrespectful to them. Now you lost your opportunity. I was always taught to respect my elders. But in my opinion depending on what they (elders) say to me. They need to respect me as well. You do have to consider some diseases as people get older. But some people use that to their advantage sometimes.

You get what you give.

(Aretha Franklin – “Respect”.)
